Here's a possible explaination, http://www.cato.org/blog/you-ought-have-look-climate-sensitivity-environmental-worries-are-trending-downward

FACTS ARE STUBBORN THINGS - Yet, it’s worth noting that crude oil and liquids pipelines already safely coexist with the aquifer, with almost 21,000 miles of pipeline crossing Nebraska. - Forbes.com

APRIL 22, 2009 - Obama burns 9,000 gallons of fuel to fly 895 miles round trip to plant a tree and speak on alternative energy.

HERMAN CAIN - The one Republican who publicly promotes that we have all the energy resources we need right here in America, and to hell with foreign energy dependence.

THIS WEEKS OBAMA GREEN FAILURES - Solar Trust of America LLC, files bankruptcy - $2.1 Billion in DOE loan guarantees. A123 Systems, subject of investor class action suit - $279 million in DOE loans Both sure to be ignored by the Lamestream Media

Climate Change = Agenda 21 & Globalization -

RENEWABLE ENERGY - We should use German logic and shut it all down.

YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO SEE THIS - This is a photo (on a good day) of the actual 2000 acres of ANWR where 10 billion barrels of oil awaits. An area 1/5th the size of Dulles Airport.

WIND TURBINES - Setting new standards for reliability and cost.

RELIABLE ENERGY - we be cooking on the wood stove tonight

THE EASTER BUNNY AND THE TOOTH FAIRY - The equivalent thinking to that which says we can rapidly phase out fossil fuels to renewables.

Hey Willard... is this the type of 47% you were talking about? Corporations are people, right?

ENERGY PRICES - Will necessarily skyrocket.... Elections matter!

" RORSCHACH INKBLOTS " - Make more sense than Obama pushing for Solar Energy. German and Chinese Solar Firms Battle for Survival.

I WONDER IF THESE GUYS - will be at the "jobs" speech.

IN 2012 - by voting his majesty out of office.

GORE, HYPOCRACY AND THE GREEN COLLAPSE - Socialist ideas are so out of wack with reality that they vaporize when they come into contact with the real world

LIKE - fer sure, dude.

GERMANY'S POST-NUCLEAR MODEL - Wind at 40%?!? Looks like the French are going to make some serious scratch off the Germans-LOL!!!

WHILE YOU WERE DISTRACTED - Another Obama "Green Energy" company, Abound Solar Inc. of Colorado, goes bankrupt after taking $70 million in taxpayer money.

" OBAMANOMICS " - Suppose you could produce $50 of electricity but it cost you $100 to do so. Would that make any sense? It would if you work at the White House.

OBAMA'S WAR ON FOSSIL FUELS - After Billions spent the Green Energy fantasy doesn't amount to a rounding error in energy usage.

"ONCE BIG OIL, ALWAYS BIG OIL!" - AMEN. P.S., anyone with Shop 101 or better knowledge knows that ethanol eats up engine gaskets and o-rings.

Man-Made Maunder Minimum -

WE MIGHT SELL IT TO OBAMA JUST PUT 'MADE IN CHINA' ON IT ? - Obama: Use Algae as substitute for oil.The Department of Energy spends $85 million on research projects "to develop algal biofuels," Obama is committing another $14 million to the idea.

" IF THE GREEN GLOVE FITS " - Obama has promised to create 5 million "green-collar jobs". Seen any lately?

Greenpeace Hypocrisy -

SOTU ENERGY QUOTE - “all-out, all-of-the-above strategy" (another lie: keystone pipeline)

" THE OBAMA ECONOMIC PLAN " - " Made in USA is now only on antiques "

OBAMA ENERGY PLAN - “You might want to think about a trade-in.” And downsize your lifestyle, prosperity, and expectations for the future of your children.

OBAMA PROMISES SOROS OIL CO. $2 BILLION - As American exploration is gutted. You can make do with wind, muscle, or animal power.

MERRY-GLOW-ROUND - Germans make amusement park at nuclear power site. Methinks they had one too many at Oktoberfest.

DEEPWATER REICHSTAG - Its not like Obama would let the BP spill become a massive catastrophe to help him push harder for "greener" energy, right?

That's the value of basic research like this. You may discover 100 interesting things that are of no practical use, but in the process discover a few things that actually help and are economically feasible.
Renza - May 2, 2013, 7:40 am
If they could make a vehicle for 5 cents a piece, that had no negative impacts on the environment and improved carrying capacity, speed, durability etc, and over a hundred miles a gallon, the designer would probably be sh** and research burnt.
ipaprime - May 2, 2013, 6:46 am
could be but much depends also on ease of manufacture so as to make it avalible to the general public
Renza - May 1, 2013, 12:58 pm
even if retaining standard speed, carrying capacity, time between refills etc cut out 90% of it's fuel efficiency, it would still be 10x better than anything we have now. I imagine emissions would also improve.
ipaprime - May 1, 2013, 11:53 am
im talking about speed, carrying capacity, time between refills, and so forth
Renza - May 1, 2013, 11:51 am
It's fueled by the tears of oil company CEOs?
ipaprime - May 1, 2013, 11:46 am
yea but what about the trade offs required for it
Renza - April 28, 2013, 9:00 am
It would be pretty amazing to have a jump in efficiency like that... good luck getting oil companies and their puppet politicians to get out of the way when the day comes though

WIND MILLS IN GERMANY - Cranking out tons of energy on this windless day.

HOW WOULD $ 6 A GALLON SOUND MR.PRESIDENT? - Saudi Arabia cuts oil output by 237,000 barrels per day.

RENEWABLE ENERGY - No wonder the energy industry hates it.

ELECTRIC CARS - Once a reality, but destroyed by conservative interests

SUPERBOWL POWER OUTAGE - New Orleans deja vu

HERE'S AN IDEA... - Get rid of all the useless defense boondoggles, then hire the defense contractors to build solar panels.

good for you. i live in a state that nas significant wind farms and we have lots of wind but it doesnt blow all the time so there have been days they havent generated a mw
Mooooooooooooooooooo - February 3, 2013, 12:13 am

Overcast skies only make a slight difference in solar collection. I grew up in a house run on solar. We had a gas fridge and stove, but everything else came from the sun.
PapaFox - February 2, 2013, 11:40 pm
Germany manages to do quite well with it, even though it tends to be cloudy much more often than most of the US. That's part of the beauty of a decentralized system.
ipaprime - February 2, 2013, 11:30 pm
hmm i noticed that you left out the fact that solar energy is unreliable due to the nessecity of needing the sun to be shining which it does not due every day, or even all day

joe barely understands basic physics.
50cal - February 2, 2013, 8:10 pm
Short sighted is the fact that solar energy transfer even meeting a 90% energy conversion still fall far short as a viable energy source. While tards are touting this crap they shun R&D of cold fusion because its not political +points because the average
PapaFox - February 2, 2013, 2:41 pm
Thus the concept of investing in infrastructure for the future - something that short-sighted American businesses rarely comprehend.
Doggit - February 2, 2013, 12:18 pm
Oh and oil is the most subsidized power source
Doggit - February 2, 2013, 12:13 pm
But in Germany citizens are given loans by government to purchase solar equipment which is then incorporated into their grid. Yes technology will increase its cost effectiveness in the future.
Doggit - February 2, 2013, 12:00 pm
Granted nuclear power needs to be utilized for our energy demands to be meant in next 50 years.
50cal - February 2, 2013, 11:42 am
Plus, the solar to cost ratio for power is almost rendered fraud waste and abuse. Its one of the most subsidized power sources of energy next to wind. And it still barely breaks even. The cellular tech is still a good 10 years out as a viable option.
50cal - February 2, 2013, 11:40 am
Less we also forget new nuclear power is far more productive then what is currently operating however thanks to protesters keeping the new safter facilities from being built we have to still use crap that dates back to the 70s.
50cal - February 2, 2013, 11:37 am
To a degree, but the facts are extremely skewed in this post. 1500 MWe is produced by One Nuke power source. In a very small areas, Do you know how many hundreds of thousands of acres of land destroyed, and the fact each farm produces an average of 50WM.
Doggit - February 2, 2013, 10:01 am
Germany is the model for a**imilation of solar power into the grid
